Area

Foinikounta is a quiet seaside village in the southwestern tip of Messinia, approximately halfway along the Koroni-Methoni route. It is 295 kilometers from Athens and only 60 kilometers from the regional capital, Kalamata.

In recent years it has become one of the most important tourist destinations in Messinia.
